Dave's MVS Freeware - Rexx

I've rated my freeware using the 4 dinosaur system: = Must have!
  = Very useful?
  = Worth a look...
  = Hey, remember it's free!

COPYANSI
A filter exec that converts files with ANSI control characters. MVS only
Last Update: 1999-02-04
BUCKETPP
Processes IBM buckets to quickly grab PTFs for the given FMID.
Last Update: 2000-06-03 New
Image copy
Copy image and other byte-oriented files between MVS datasets of different RECFMs. MVS only
Last Update: 1998-02-19
Image file information
Shows the image file information of .GIF and .JPG (JPEG) files.
Last Update: 1998-04-21
ISPF34L

(useability)
1/2 (user-interface)
Create control cards and other functions from files in an ISPF 3.4 output list dataset.

I've rated this exec high on useability but only a half-dino because the user-interface is awful.

Last Update: 1998-04-21
ISPFVAR
Shows all of the IBM supplied ISPF variables. Useful when programming ISPF applications.
Last Update: 1997-11-04
ISPF V4 fixer
Make ISPF in V4 and higher work look like older versions
Last Update: 1999-03-06
MVSVAR
Shows all of the MVSVAR() system variables. Useful when programming in REXX and CLIST. TSO/E 2.5 or higher
Last Update: 1997-05-18
SMP/E Post Processor

Process your SMP/E APPLY CHECK output for PTFs bypassed due to ACTION, HOLD, DOC etc. that you should investigate prior to APPLYing.
Last Update: 1998-03-03

SMPEPP can be invoked as either an ISPF edit macro or as just a Rexx exec so I have put it in two catagories.
SYSVAR
Shows all of the SYSVAR() system variables. Useful when programming in REXX and CLIST.
Last Update: 1997-05-18
Translate
Two REXX execs that perform BIT2CHAR and CHAR2BIT functions.
Last Update: 1998-01-03
XMITINFO
Shows information about a TSO XMIT file. XMITINFO should work in most Rexx environments. It is handly on a PC to get some indication about what's in an XMIT file. This exec was written as a first phase of a project to be able to decode XMIT files on a PC.
Last Update: 1998-04-21
VSMAP
Shows the OS/390 (MVS) Virtual Storage Map.
Last Update: 2000-01-08

Some of these files are in the TSO XMIT format. Reference these download instructions for using these files. All of the files above are meant for use on a MVS mainframe (except where noted).

These files can also be seen on the CBT tape starting with version 417 in file 311. (but without the cute T.rex rating system).
