Here are the MVS freeware programs I use the most often:

PDS command available in a Y2K-compliant version on the FREEPDS FTP site. If you have the StarTool product use it instead of the freeware version.
SHOWMVS available in FILE 183 of the CBT Tape or Gilbert Saint-flour's web site (take the "MVS Tools and Doc" Link and select File 183). SHOWMVS shows just about all MVS system configuration information available.
MXI available on the Scott Enterprise Consultancy (SEC) web page. I use the MEM, SSI and SVC functions a lot.
